We’re hiring a Quality Control Supervisor to help drive our continued success! 

 

Purpose of the role:

 

MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Quality Control Supervisor directs the assignment of Quality Control and NDT Inspectors in the areas of aircraft, parts, and NDT inspections. They also monitor the adequacy and Quality of the Inspection Program to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with applicable specification and regulations and directs changes or corrections when required. The Quality Control Supervisor resolves controversial and/or circumstantial write-ups and supports the Quality Manager in maintaining consistent quality performance across the organization.

 

Here are the daily responsibilities of a Quality Control Supervisor:

 

  • Direct the daily assignment of Quality Control and NDT Inspectors for aircraft, parts, and non-destructive testing inspections.
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of the Inspection Program and implement necessary changes or corrective actions.
  • Resolve complex, controversial, or circumstantial inspection write-ups in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Support the Quality Manager in maintaining consistent quality performance across the organization.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to QC and NDT Inspectors to support professional growth and technical development.
  • Ensure inspection personnel adhere to safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards during all maintenance and inspection activities.
  • Prepare inspection teams for internal, customer, and regulatory audits, ensuring documentation and practices meet required standards.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and overall quality performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and safety within the inspection team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure inspectors are informed and trained accordingly.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve quality-related issues and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inspection quality, compliance, and team performance.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new QC and NDT Inspectors to ensure team readiness and capability.
  • May be responsible for serving as the primary point-of-contact for the FAA and maintaining the overall relationship with other regulatory agencies as required by the organization. 

 

Here is what is required to succeed:

 

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in quality control within the aerospace industry, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity in aircraft maintenance or quality.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, including but not limited to Parts 21, 25, 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, and 145.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, regulatory authorities, suppliers, and internal stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), SAP, Lotus Notes, and web-based applications used for SMS and quality data tracking.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and guide team members in specialized technical areas.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
